今回は、広島の日本酒の中でも、私が特に気に入っている「うまいじゃろカープびいき」についてご紹介したいと思います。

In this issue, I would like to introduce “Umaijaro Carp Biiki,” a sake from Hiroshima that I particularly like.

「うまいじゃろカープびいき」とは、広島のプロ野球チーム「広島カープ」のファン向けに作られた日本酒です3。広島県産の米や酵母を使って造られており、ラベルにはカープのロゴや選手のサインが描かれています。カープびいきとは、カープに対する熱狂的な応援や愛情のことです。

Umaijaro Carp Biiki is a sake made for fans of the Hiroshima Carp professional baseball team.3 It is made with rice and yeast grown in Hiroshima Prefecture, and the label features the Carp logo and players’ autographs. Carp-biki refers to the enthusiastic support and love for the Carp.

この日本酒は、香りは控えめで飲みやすく、味わいはまろやかでコクがあります。カープの試合を観戦しながら飲むと、応援気分が盛り上がりますよ。もちろん、カープファンでなくても楽しめる美味しい日本酒です。

This sake is easy to drink with a subdued aroma and a mild, full-bodied flavor. Drinking it while watching a Carp game will make you feel like cheering for the team. Of course, you don’t have to be a Carp fan to enjoy this delicious sake.

私はこの日本酒を冷やして飲むのが好きですが、常温やぬる燗でも美味しく飲めます。おつまみには、広島名物のお好み焼きや牡蠣などが合います。広島の味を存分に堪能できます。

I like to drink this sake chilled, but it is also delicious at room temperature or lukewarm. For snacks, Hiroshima’s famous okonomiyaki and oysters go well with it. You can fully enjoy the flavors of Hiroshima.
